Agent Brand Guide — The Company Real Estate

The problem
A brand system is only as good as the people who have to use it on a Tuesday afternoon. The Company Real Estate is a young Vallejo brokerage with five agents, each with their own clients, voice, and social presence — and a brand identity that needed to hold together across all of them without flattening anyone into a corporate script.
What I built
A working document that turns brand strategy into daily practice for the agents who actually post, list, and pitch:
- The brand on one page — mission, values with their real costs attached (“we give up listings we could only win by overpromising”), and positioning an agent can say out loud
- A house voice designed as a floor, not a costume — the guide explicitly tells agents to build their own personality on top of it: “a personality clients recognize beats a perfectly uniform feed”
- The hero test — a one-question check any caption can be held to: read it back and ask who the hero is. If it’s the agent or the brokerage, rewrite it. If it’s the client, the neighborhood, or the house, it’s on brand
- Say-this-not-that tables — off-brand hype (“HOT NEW LISTING! Won’t last!!”) rewritten into the house voice (“New on the market in Glen Cove. Here’s what makes this one worth a look.”)
- Audience personas with their fears attached — each segment mapped to what they need, what they’re afraid of, and which message to lead with
The thinking
Most brand guides fail at the hand-off: strategy documents get written for leadership and ignored by the people producing the daily content. This one was written for the agents — short enough to actually read, specific enough to settle a debate, and built on one insight about the audience: they have their guard up, and hype confirms what they already suspect. The most persuasive thing an agent can do is be specific, be useful, and be unbothered.
